Anchor Center for Blind Children

A preschooler learns to utilize light and a cane to navigate

Anchor Center for Blind Children teaches visually impaired infants, young children and their families, providing hope and a nurturing environment where children reach their highest potential.

Located in the Stapleton neighborhood, Anchor Center has just moved into a new building designed for the unique learning styles of children with vision impairments. Founded in 1982, this private, non-profit organization is a licensed child care facility in Denver. The staff includes teachers of the visually impaired, occupational, physical, speech and music therapists, a family specialist, a psychology consultant and classroom assistants.

2008 Owners & Directors Conference

The annual conference for owners and directors is May 2, 2008 at the Denver Marriott West in Golden. Online registration is now closed, but we will be accepting walk-ins from 7:00-7:30. We hope to see you there!

First Aid & CPR Training

Are you looking for First Aid/CPR trainings for your employees? Are you interested in saving money on First Aid/CPR trainings? The Colorado Child Care Association is excited to announce that we have partnered with Life Rescue Association to provide First Aid/CPR/Universal Precautions trainings at a discount to our members. All the trainings will be held at CCCA’S office located at 1370 Pennsylvania Suite #440.

Changes to the Group Leader Qualifications Went Into Effect May 1, 2007

The changes to the Group Leader qualifications were passed by StateBoard and went into effect May 1, 2007. A facility can hire Group Leaders under the old qualifications, but all Group Leaders must meet the new qualifications by May 1, 2010. In addition all staff are required to complete 15 clock hours of training each year. For a complete list of the changes log into the Members Only Center.

2008 Legislative Session

The 2008 legislative session is underway with approximately 500 bills that have been introduced to date.  CCCA is following a number of bills that may affect your programs or the way that you conduct business.  Go the Members Only Center for a list of applicable bills and CCCA’S positions on them.

Professional Development Research Study

Relationship Roots is looking for interested centers for a free professional development program that is part of a research study.  The applicants should serve low income families and children with high risk factors.  The trainings consist of 8 monthly trainings plus on site mentoring.  The curriculum focuses on social/emotional development.  For more information, download these documents:
