A3: Managing a Positive Workforce: Your #1 Tool to Keep Employees Happy
Presented by Laura Hazen, Ireland, Stapleton, Pryor, & Pascoe, P.C.
Room: Green Mountain

Some employees are whiny, while others are perpetually unhappy. How does an employer create a workforce that is positive, without catering to the most vocal (complaining) minority? And, perhaps more importantly, why does an employer care? This seminar will help an employer identify the type of culture it wants to create, and will help those employers craft a plan to create and develop that positive workplace.

A4: Successful Staff Meetings
Presented by Lisa Armao, Montessori School of Washington Park
Room: Mount Vernon

As directors, we know that the success of our schools and centers is directly correlated to the quality and attitude of our teachers and staff members. Providing powerful, purposeful, motivating in-services and staff meetings can go a long way to ensuring positive outcomes for all of us. This workshop will provide you with ideas and resources which will ensure your staff meetings and in-service days serve as valuable experiences for your staff.

A5: A Chat About CHATS
Presented by Leslie Bulicz and Benush Venugopal, Colorado Department of Human Services, Division of Child Care
Room: Lookout Mountain

The Division of Child Care is building a new automated system to support the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP). The new and improved Child Care Automated Tracking System (CHATS) will make the business of tracking time and attendance when providing child care assistance services so much easier and make payment so much more timely and accurate! Come hear an update on the development of the system and the state’s implementation plans that will affect all CCCAP providers.

C3: Managing by Walking Around
Presented by Jody Martin, Creme de la Creme
Room: Mount Vernon
Managing while walking around is a technique for keeping in touch with children, staff, and the facility. Directors who spend time in and around their centers, who are visible and empathetic to teachers’ needs, and who provide technical assistance in problem solving are viewed by teachers as both supportive to the teaching role and successful in the director role. Systems will be outlined to make the time spent walking around serve a purpose.

Presented by Marc Grauberger, Cherry Creek Insurance, and Ken Zimmerman, Philadelphia Insurance Company

At the end of this workshop, Cherry Creek Insurance will be giving away a BluRay HD DVD player to one lucky workshop participant!
