Why Be a Member of Colorado Child Care Association?

Our members cite many reasons for belonging to their state professional association, including the great insurance program offered through Cherry Creek Insurance Agency and our other association buying plans: Donson's Food Service for food and paper products and Office Depot BSD for both classroom and office supplies. CCCA dues include automatic membership in the National Child Care Association (NCCA), which provides access to their national buying plans, as well. Buying plans offer the "little guy" the kind of discounts that the "big boys"have. CCCA and NCCA can negotiate discounts on the items you most commonly purchase.

We are also pleased to serve as a free referral service for our members. Our office receives requests for referrals on a daily basis. Each member center receives a free referral listing on our web site and a link to the center’s site if they have one. For those without internet access, we provide by fax or mail lists of our centers in the communities and neighborhoods requested.

Membership benefits include a free subscription to the Colorado Child Care Association’s newsletter, with informative and timely articles on issues affecting the many aspects of your business, and discounted registration for our annual conference for owners and directors.

Much of our real work is done behind the scenes, where our volunteer Board of Directors works tirelessly to promote and protect your interests as private licensed providers. A partial list of the advocacy work we do includes:

  • Regular communication with Licensing to obtain up to the minute licensing changes and to give input on proposed regulations.
  • Monitoring of bills proposed in the legislature to identify any child care issues that may affect you, and to keep you updated on new laws.
  • Providing testimony and expertise to the legislature on early childhood issues.
  • Collaboration with other early childhood advocacy groups to ensure that the voice of private providers is heard.
  • Working with legislators, the governor's office, the Department of Human Services and others to increase provider reimbursement rates.

We are here to provide you with support and encouragement for the difficult but rewarding job that you do in caring for and educating young children. Our association president recently wrote: "I am a member because of the opportunities to network and share support with other private providers who have the same struggles as I have: balancing quality/affordability with the bottom line while seeking staff, plunging toilets, and wondering about how election year promises of universal preschool will affect enrollment."- Bill Boerder, Thomas Learning Centers

We are your association. We welcome your participation and input.
